Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch consists of citizens bonding together in partnership with the Hobart Police Department to address issues that concern the entire community. These concerns can be speeding cars, car break ins, suspicious persons as well as other various issues. Partnering with the Hobart Police Department, the neighborhood can come up with action plans on how to report such issues to both the police department and each other.

Each neighborhood watch group must establish a block captain. A block captain is the person in charge of ensuring everyone stays in contact, meetings are setup on a regular basis and action plans are being followed through. These duties can be split up amongst members, but a captain is necessary to resolve any hiccups in the process.

To start a neighborhood watch group in your community or find information on an existing group contact the Public Relations office at 219-942-1125 ext. 1070.
