Message from the City of Hobart: Severe Weather
March 10, 2026 - Severe Weather
Storms are expected to move through our area this evening and overnight. Some storms could be strong, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, hail, tornadoes, and possible localized flooding.
Now is a good time to take a few minutes to prepare and make sure those around you are ready as well.
Helpful Safety Tips:
Stay informed. Enable weather alerts on your phone or have a weather radio nearby so you receive warnings if they are issued.
Know where you will go if a warning is issued. The safest place is a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor away from windows.
Charge phones and devices in case of power outages.
Secure outdoor items like patio furniture, trash cans, or decorations that could blow around in strong winds.
Avoid driving through standing water. Even a small amount can stall a vehicle or be deeper than it appears.
Check on neighbors, family members, and friends especially seniors or those who may not receive weather alerts. Make sure they are aware of the forecast and know what to do if conditions worsen.
Stay safe and stay weather aware.
